And so we meet, you and I
Like two rain clouds in the sky
Nothing solid, nothing permanent
The nature of clouds is transient
We float together on a breeze
Before parting without ease
Something is always left behind
Something that is difficult to find
And so we meet, you and I
Like two rivers strong and wide
Nothing solid, nothing permanent
The nature of rivers is turbulent
Together we sweep everything along
While others covet our sweet song
All seems well to the untrained eye
But before we reach the ocean we run dry
And so we meet, you and I
Like two flames burning high.
Nothing solid, nothing permanent
The nature of fires is violent
Our light shines pure and bright
Even in the coldest, darkest night
But on each other we must turn
When there is nothing left to burn
So how must we meet, you and I?
Like two mountains that never die
Ever solid, almost permanent
The nature of mountains is not transient
