Observations on Love (2010)

Love can be fragile, love can be strong
Love can be right, and also be wrong
Love can be given, love can be returned
Love can be received, love can be spurned

Love can make you whole or tear you apart
Love can be music, love can be art
Love can be written, love can be spoken
Love can make you feel good or leave you heartbroken

Love can linger when you want it gone
Love can stay away when you have none
Love can be felt, love can be seen
Love can disappear as if it’s never been

Why then love at all, when love seems doomed to fall?
Why take the risk, for a love that might be brusque?
Why find a love that will last, when life is over so fast?

The answers to these questions remain unknown,
But a life without love, a life lived alone,
Is not much better than the life of a stone.
